As a nation with various celebrations and festivals, Greece has two National Days, which fall on March 25th and October 28th.
OHI Day commemorates the rejection by the Greek Prime Minister of the ultimatum made by the Italian military on 28 October 1940, the Hellenic counterattack against the invading Italian forces, and the Greek Resistance during the Axis occupation.
Since then, OHI Day has been celebrated throughout Greece on 28 October each year, and it’s a national public holiday in Greece now. Schools are closed for the day and very few businesses are open. The small towns and villages have a parade with the school children dressed in blue and white, the colors of the Greek flag.
In the bigger cities, the parade of the school children is followed by the parade of the Greek Armed Forces. Government and local officials are there to watch these events with pride.
On October 28, Hellas House will hold an "OHI" Day dinner, only for 198 RMB. In addition to the regular Greek dishes, you are also welcomed to taste the "OHI" Day special dishes. Your feedback matters so please share with us!
