We’re having a gay-la! International Day Against Homophobia is a day for the community to gather together to celebrate identity in a night of entertainment, food & drink. Our black-tie, futuristic themed night is welcome to anyone who is accepting of people, no matter how they identify.
After five fulling years advocating for LGBTQ rights and recognition in China, Qmmunity is celebrating the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia by gathering companies, consulates, and Chinese public institutions to raise awareness and bring together the Shanghai community in a night that celebrates identity.
This night also marks the 5th year anniversary of Qmmunity. We will be raising funds in order to maintain our mission as one of the most active and influential LGBTQ organizations in China.
Guest: Jeff Graham
About The Day Against Homophobia
The Day against Homophobia was created in 2004 in order to raise awareness among politicians, social movements, media y the general public about the violence and discrimination that LGBTQ people suffer around the world.
Throughout these years, the 17th of May has become the most important LGBTQ movement at an international level. The day represents the importance of defending and raising consciousness of the situation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersexual people across the globe, as well as all those who don't feel identified with any of the heteronormativity tags in sexual or gender terms.
