Performers
Chen Weiping is an associate professor of cello at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and a master's degree supervisor. He has studied with Professor Chen Jiuhe, one of China's most famous educators, and Natalia Gutman, one of the last remaining great figures of the Russian school.
He often performs concertos with famous orchestras at home and abroad, and has appeared in many top music halls in Europe and America, and has performed solo in dozens of countries and regions in Europe and Asia.
He has been interviewed by new media several times and has appeared on many famous speaking platforms such as Ted and Momenttalk, and has over 100,000 followers on social media. He now uses a cello made in 1921 by the Italian luthier Enricore Marghetti.
Yuan Xiao is a teacher at the Shanghai Conservatory of Musica and a young pianist. In 2003, she was invited to Norway to participate in the Stavanger International Music Festival, and in 2004, she was selected as the only exchange student with a full scholarship to the Salzburg Conservatory of Music in Austria. In October 2005, she went to Austria to study at the Salzburg Conservatory under Professor Klaus Kaufmann. In 2006, she won the first prize at the Mozart International Piano Competition in Austria. In May 2006, she won a special prize at the 52nd International Piano Competition "Maria & Canals" in Barcelona, Spain. In 2007, she won an honorary prize at the 4th China International Piano Competition in Xiamen, China. In 2008, she received a master's degree in piano performance from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she has been teaching ever since. During her work, she has been invited to perform in many important festivals, master classes and recordings at home and abroad, and has performed in many concerts with world-renowned musicians, including Nobuco Imai, Christian Kunert, Christian Kuner, etc.
