Let’s go…trek Songshan + Shaolin Temple! (Advanced Cliff Trek) Group size - max 15

We are heading over to  Shaolin Temple territory for a weekend of advanced trekking. We will be gearing up (professional gear) and hitting the cliffs of Songshan.  This one is not for the faint of heart ;)

The Route:

Named a UNESCO World Geopark in 2004, Songshan is home to the famous Shaolin Temple, which lies at its base. The 6~7 hr, 15 km route we will be taking runs along the back of the mountain and ends at the Shaolin Temple. It will require the use of safety harnesses, ropes, and the guidance of professionals.  

Dates: Month Dates (Friday evening to Sunday)

Day 1 – Friday, November 30

16:12 – Hop on our train to Luoyang (dinner on your own in the train)

21:28 – Train station pick up and head over to Songshan

23:50 – Arrive and check in our 3-star hotel

Day 2 – Saturday, December 1

07:00 – Early wake-up

07:30 – Local breakfast

08:00 – Set off to start our mountain adventure

08:30 – Begin our advanced trek up hills to the climbing start point (General Hall)

10:30 – Gear up and continue hiking and climbing with the use of safety harnesses and ropes - the instructor will provide assistance

12:00 – Reach the top and have a picnic lunch

13:00 – Continue our challenge

14:30 – Downhill (weather allowing, we will take the breathtaking Fish Back route but close to the destination; if not, we will choose another route for our descent)

15:00 – Cross Xidu Cliff  (please check physical restrictions in FAQ area)

17:30 – Complete our challenge and arrive at the Shaolin Temple where we will check out the sunset

19:00 – Return to town

19:30 – Local specialty dinner

21:00 – Head back to our hotel

Day 3 – Sunday, December 2

07:00 – Wake up

07:30 – Local breakfast + checkout

08:00 – Head over to Taishi Mountain

09:00 – Start our another awesome trek, where we will head up to the second highest peak of Songshan and check out the incredible view of the surrounding  mountains

12:30 – Arrive at our destination

13:00 – Local specialty lunch

13:30 – Head over to Luoyang Railway Station

15:30 – Arrive at the station and catch our train back to Shanghai (dinner on your own in the train)
